On Sunday, May 18, 2025, His Royal Highness Prince Emanuele Filiberto took part, in his capacity as Head of the Royal House of Savoy and Grand Master of the Dynastic Orders, in the solemn ceremony of enthronement of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
Warmly welcomed by members of the Italian Government, the Prince was seated in the front row in St. Peter’s Square, alongside H.R.H. Prince Aimone of Savoy-Aosta, Duke of Aosta, and H.R.H. Prince Carlos Xavier of Bourbon-Parma, Duke of Parma.
Throughout the day, H.R.H. remained within St. Peter’s Basilica, meeting with members of royal families and representatives of official delegations invited for the occasion.
The Prince’s presence at the event is a tangible sign of the deep historical and spiritual bond between the Royal House of Savoy and the Catholic Church.
